Fall

If you are like me, you love fall. It is my favourite time of the year. The colors of the leaves with warmer days and cooler nights often is welcome after a hot summer.

Happy Late Thanksgiving!

What has everyone been up to this summer? I'd love to hear all about how you spent any time off with family or friends.

As I said in my last blog, Dan and I went to Myrtle Beach, saw his sister in New York, and hit a few cities on our way there and back. It was a great vacation.

Come Sept, my mom and I took a cruise to Alaska. It was amazing! The views of the ocean, mountains, whales, meeting new and interesting people, was nothing short of a fantastic trip. I highly recommend it if you can!

I haven't had an opportunity to download all my photos off of my camera yet. Once we got home, I had my call for surgery.

Lumpectomy went well. Same with the removal of 4-6 lymph nodes.

The first week went off without a hitch. Then the following weekend (Thanksgiving weekend) on the Saturday, one incision opened and a ton of fluid came out....and didn't stop. I went to the Queensway Carleton Hospital. They check the open incision and the fluid and sent me home with all the dressings I needed to continue to cover and clean it. They did not stitch me up.

The following Tuesday I had a fever...but felt better in the evening. Next morning I went to the General. They took blood work and after being there for 7.5 hours and seeing 2 doctors and 1 surgeon, they decided to leave it alone and let the fluid continue to come out on it's own.

So as I sit here writing this to you, I still have fluid coming out and have to change the dressings every 2 hours. Yup you read that right. Every 2 hours. That is how much fluid is coming out. I can't tell you how much my skin hates me for all the tape that I put on and take off. At this point I wait. I see my surgeon again on the 17th I hope the fluid leak ends before then.

Otherwise, other then my entire skin being extremely dry and my lips even dryer, chapped and fever blistered. I feel great. Will be happy when this step is over with. I have not received back pathology report on whether the lymph nodes have been touched and possible spreading. I do know they removed more area around the lump then they originally thought they would need to, but believe they did get it all. More to come after my follow-up.

Enough about me.

Halloween is coming!

Next to Christmas, my second favourite season. And yes I'm calling it a season, because normally all the Halloween decorations are up already. Hoping to be able to get to that this weekend.

And just think, Christmas is just around the corner.

Never too early to start your Christmas Shopping by purchasing a book.

I am hoping for new products to be available on my website before Christmas. This will all be bearing on how I feel.

I wish everyone a happy fall and Halloween season.

Happy Reading
